  • Veterans Cup (Scotland)

    The Veterans Cup is an individual competition fished to fishery rules from drifting boats. The League style competition is held at The Lake of Menteith and is fished over 7 rounds from March to September. Results will be decided on best 4 rounds from 7.

    These outings are a great way to get out on a boat and fish loch style, whether you are new to the sport or to the fishing style, you will be sure to have a great day among fellow veterans and some top class anglers.

    This is a friendly competition in a relaxed atmosphere where you will fish in two sessions, morning and afternoon with a 30 minute break for lunch. This also gives you the chance to get to know other veterans within the club and share your experiences and knowledge of the sport, as well as some banter. Please be aware that this is only registered interest and doesn’t guarantee a place, this will be confirmed by email closer to each event.

  • Veterans UK Champs

    MVFF UK Championships 2026

    The UK Championships is the Club’s annual event which is held on a rotation of England, Wales and Scotland.

    This years Championships will be held at the Lake of Menteith in Scotland.

    We have sourced accommodation at the Rob Roy Hotel in Aberfoyle, which is two miles from the fishery.

    More details on both the competition and the accommodation will be released in due course.

  • Scottish Club Champs

    The Scottish Club Championships is a three man team event fished to International Rules. It is fished at the Lake of Menteith and is a knockout event consisting of a preliminary round, semi final and final. The prelim round is an evening session with an average of 10 teams taking part. Only the top four teams go through from each heat to the semi and then half from each semi to the final, both of which are fished during the day.

  • Airflo Open

    The Airflo Open Championship a team event comprising of 6 members who will be fishing to be crowned the top competition team in the UK, and take home the Silver Salver from this prestigious event.

    Each heat will be strictly limited to 10 teams, with 50% of the teams qualifying for one of our finals, so enter early to avoid disappointment!

    The top 3 teams at each heat will be invited to the Grand final at Rutland Water and a further 2 teams at each round invited to fish The Shield (a one day event) at Draycote water in September.

    Committee will select a team from across the club through set criteria.

  • Scottish Premier Fly Fishing League

    Scotland’s first four man team fly fishing league, fished at Menteith. 18 teams will fish it out over four outings this year in order to create two leagues next year, the Premier League and the Division 1.

    With promotion and relegation at stake this is sure to prove a competitive league system with some of the best teams and anglers in the country.

    Military Veterans will have one team, however no team is restricted to the same four anglers and can change every outing, as long as they don’t fish for another team within the league.
